• Graduate students

Prospective graduate students should reach out to Morgan prior to submitting an application. She will review your e-mail to assess potential fit, funding availability, and determine if a Zoom discussion is an appropriate next step. If you are interested in applying for funding (e.g., NSF GRFP, Simons), please contact Morgan no later than 2-3 months prior to the deadline to discuss the potential for her to support your fellowship application. Interested M.S. and Ph.D. students can apply to the lab through the following programs:

• Botany and Plant Pathology 
• Forestry and Natural Resources 

 

• Undergraduate students

​Most students start working in the lab for course credit. This requires registering for 1-3 credits of independent research (3 hours per credit hour per week). You will likely work with a team to assist on a specific project. We have capacity limitations due to time, funding, and project limitations, so we cannot guarantee a space will be available in the lab. Please feel free to reach out to Morgan with your interest throughout the year, but targeted periods for recruitment are early August for the fall semester, early January for the spring semester, and early January for Purdue-sponsored summer programs like SCARF and SURF. There are also paid research opportunities in the lab dependent on funding and project needs.

• Postdoctoral researchers

Prospective postdocs who have been awarded funding or are interested in collaborating on a proposal are encouraged to reach out to Morgan. In your e-mail, please describe your experience and the research projects you are interested in pursuing in the lab. ​
